No tracker matches that search. Countr also lets you make your own tracker with any countries, number of days and period.
Places where days alone do not decide
Some countries do not use a day count at all. They look at where your home, family or daily life is. Countr shows these in the app so you know a day total will not answer the question.
Belgium Tax ResidenceNo day count. Belgium looks at where your real home is, or where most of your wealth is kept. Being registered in the National Register counts as living in Belgium unless you prove otherwise.
Netherlands Tax ResidenceNo day count. The Netherlands looks at your whole situation — where your home, family, work, doctor and daily life are — and picks the country you are most tied to.
Mexico Tax ResidenceNo day count. You are a Mexican tax resident if your permanent home is in Mexico. With a home in two countries, Mexico wins when more than half of your yearly income comes from Mexico or your work is based there (Federal Tax Code, Article 9). Mexican citizens are treated as residents unless they prove otherwise, and moving to a low-tax country can keep you a Mexican resident for five more years.
Switzerland C PermitNo day count. The settlement permit needs 10 years holding a Swiss permit, the last 5 without a break (5 years in total for some nationalities and well-integrated people). It is measured in permit years, not days in the country.
Switzerland CitizenshipNo day count. You need a C permit and 10 years of living in Switzerland, 3 of them in the last 5 years. Only years on a B or C permit count (F counts half; L and N do not). Years between ages 8 and 18 count double, but you need at least 6 real years. A stay abroad of more than 6 months ends the counted residence. Your canton adds its own 2 to 5 years.
South Carolina Tax ResidenceNo day count. South Carolina taxes you as a resident only if you are domiciled here. The Department of Revenue states that no minimum time in the state makes you a presumed resident.
Utah Tax ResidenceNo day count. Utah decides residency by domicile. Keeping a home in Utah and spending 183 or more days here is one of sixteen facts the Tax Commission weighs — not a limit on its own — and Utah counts a day only when you spent more of it in Utah than in any other state.
Japan Tax ResidenceNo day count. You are a Japanese tax resident if your home is in Japan, or if you have lived there for one year or more. Foreign nationals who lived in Japan for 5 years or less in the last 10 are taxed as non-permanent residents; that counts years of living there, not days.
Malta Tax ResidenceNo day count. You are a Maltese tax resident if you live in Malta, apart from short trips away. A visitor who is in Malta only for a short purpose is not taxed on foreign income unless they spent six months or more in Malta in total in the year before.
Paraguay Tax ResidenceNo day count. Paraguay has no day test for people. The tax residence certificate needs your ID and your record of entries and exits.
Barbados Welcome StampNo day count. The Welcome Stamp lets you live and work remotely in Barbados for 12 months. It has no minimum or maximum number of days on the island.
Texas Tax ResidenceNo day count. Texas has no personal income tax, and its constitution forbids one. So there is no number of days that makes you a Texas tax resident. Watch the state you moved from: it may still count your days or treat you as its resident.
Nevada Tax ResidenceNo day count. Nevada has no personal income tax, and its constitution forbids one. So there is no number of days that makes you a Nevada tax resident. Watch the state you moved from: it may still count your days or treat you as its resident.
Tracker list from the Countr app catalogue, version 22. Each tracker names its official source. Trackers count days; they do not decide your legal status.
